Supporting Your Development in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) methodology is full of nuance and artistry – rooted in presence, attunement, and full-body listening. Consultation provides support as you grow your confidence and skills, find your own voice, connect to your creativity, and incorporate SP into your practice.

The more you explore, experiment, and practice with supportive feedback, the more at ease and grounded you’ll feel in your SP work.

As a certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist and Consultant-in-Training, I offer consultation for current students and alumni at all levels of SP training offered through the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.

For students in Levels 1 and 2, I can provide the consultation hours required for your training completion.

How I Work

I bring warmth, curiosity, and non-judgment to consultation, creating space where you can:

  • Make sense of and integrate SP principles, skills, and concepts into your clinical work
  • Build confidence working somatically and orienting to the moment-to-moment process
  • Develop trust in your own clinical instincts alongside your training
  • Explore challenges experientially, not just conceptually
  • Find your authentic voice as a somatic therapist

My approach balances practical skill-building with experiential depth. I help you connect with what you already know, supporting you to listen inwardly, experiment with an open heart, and build trust in the process. We can work on specific clinical questions, explore your own internal experience as a therapist, or weave them together.

I bring my background in dance/movement therapy and expressive arts to this work, with particular interests in mindfulness, neurobiology, trauma, creativity, and therapist resilience.

What We’ll Explore Together

Making Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Your Own

Integrate SP methodology into your clinical work. Find clear ways to deepen your use of this method with your particular clients and the challenges they bring.

Building Confidence and Artistry

Practice skills in areas you’d like to deepen, explore subtlety and nuance in your interventions. Grow your clarity of purpose so you can be responsive, intentional, and creative in your work.

Trusting Your Process

Connect with your own internal knowing – learn to follow somatic cues even when things feel unclear at first, and to trust the experiential process as it unfolds.

Group SP Consultation

90-120 minute sessions

Self-Formed Groups – Highly Encouraged!

I especially welcome groups of students from the same cohort who want to learn together (ideal size: 3-4 participants). Exploring SP alongside peers who are at a similar place in their training creates rich opportunities for shared discovery, support, and growth.

Group consultation offers:

  • Connection with other therapists on the same learning journey
  • Multiple perspectives on clinical questions
  • Learning and growth in community
  • Safe space to practice and experiment together
  • An opportunity for ongoing group support beyond the training if desired
  • An economical way to meet consultation requirements

Being part of Annabelle’s somatic consultation group was one of the most impactful experiences of my development as a therapist. She has a remarkable ability to track what’s happening in the room – not just the words being said, but the underlying energy, emotional tone, and body language. Watching her do that, and experiencing how it feels to be on the receiving end of that kind of presence, has helped me begin to offer it more fully to my own clients.

I am thankful for my time working with Annabelle.  Through individual and group sessions I have grown so much as a clinician. I come away from meetings with a sense of feeling empowered and energized for the new opportunities or challenges that will arise. I am so grateful that Annabelle recognizes my strengths and make an effort to facilitate my recognition of those traits in myself. Her openness, creativity, and humor are such a delight. It is such a pleasure to work with her and be inspired.
