Hello! I’m glad you’re here.
Let’s get therapy moving!
Hi, I’m Annabelle Coote.
I’m here to connect with you. To share the joy and fulfillment I have experienced as a long-time somatic therapist, and to help you do the same. To help you feel more rooted in yourself as a therapist so that you can bring more of your gifts and strengths to help your clients.
I am a raving fan of somatic work and how bottom-up approaches offer seemingly magic change for clients and a practice-changing experience for therapists. I want to get therapy out of the box, bring it alive and help therapists understand that somatic therapy is not just a bunch of tricks or practices – it’s really about bringing all of yourself into the work and helping your clients do the same.

Let’s Stay Connected
Subscribe to my Substack publication (aka blog, but so much more), Somatic Matters. You’ll get twice-monthly essays & updates right to your inbox. It’s also a place to find out what else I’m up to. I’m new to Substack and I plan to get creative with new resources for you there. It’s free & you can cancel anytime.
Join the Somatic Playground
When you become a member of the Somatic Playground at Somatic Matters on Substack, you get exclusive access to more essays, videos, resources and membership chats. For a small monthly membership fee you can learn & grow as part of a community. Let’s get therapy moving together!
Let’s Work Together
Somatic work is a lifelong practice—one that evolves as you grow personally and professionally. Whether you’re new to this approach or have years of experience, having support along the way can help you feel more grounded and centered, less isolated, and more connected to your own wisdom.
I offer mentorship and consultation to help you integrate somatic principles into your work, deepen your presence and embodiment, and navigate the complexities of clinical practice with confidence and creativity. This is a space to refine your skills, explore new perspectives, and sustain your passion for the work.

Working with Annabelle has been an opportunity for me to deepen my trust in myself as a clinician. She reminds me that in addition to training, instinct is a powerful tool for a therapist. I look forward to our sessions because she often encourages me to keep my artist “self” present by using my creativity to explore professional and clinical issues. She empowers me to find answers to my questions by bringing me back to the mind and the body.
Whenever I see Annabelle’s name on a list of presenters at a conference I immediately sign up. Annabelle presents with knowledge, clarity, creativity, sensitivity, and honesty; that is a true gift. Her reverence for her clients, her profession and mental health is strongly evident. Her presentations are practical as well as nurturing. Annabelle’s presentations have strengthened my clinical practice and I highly recommend her professional trainings.

Annabelle often encourages me to keep my “artist self” present by using my creativity to explore supervisory issues. She empowers me to find answers to my questions by bringing me back to the two primary sources that somatic therapists and dance/movement therapists use in practice: the mind and the body.
